A graduate of the Juilliard School, Stewart ( http://www.stewarthoffmanmusic.com/ ) currently freelances on jazz vibraphone, drum set and percussion. He has performed musical theatre at, among other venues, the Stratford Festival and the O'Keefe Centre (now the Sony Centre), and has performed with numerous orchestras, including the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the National Ballet of Canada and the Canadian Opera Company.

Stewart has many years of experience teaching privately and conducting clinics in Toronto area schools and music camps. He is currently a member of the private teaching staff at Crescent School in Toronto where he teaches drums, percussion, vibraphone and jazz piano.

Drum students study rudiments, rock, jazz and Latin drumming. Vibraphone/xylophone/marimba students learn 2- and/or 4-mallets techniques, reading skills and, if interested, jazz and improvisation skills. Stewart’s lessons are always musical experiences, designed to develop a well-rounded musician who incorporates a solid technique and good reading skills to reach a musical end.
